Robert Collazo, A.P., Dipl. O.M.
I am a licensed acupuncturist and Chinese medicine herbalist practicing in Miami, Florida.
From a young age, I noticed I enjoyed helping people, so I decided to become a healer, which led me to desire to become a physician. This led me to attend Florida International University and earn a Bachelor of Science in Biological Science (Pre-Med Program).
After graduation, I realized I always had a greater affinity for more natural and holistic medical practices. Being a traditional martial artist for most of my life, I have been exposed to TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) various times throughout my training. During my early martial arts training in my teens, I learned basic acupuncture points, meridians/vessels, Chinese medicine theories, massage techniques, etc.
After realizing that in TCM School one learns just as much about East Asian Medicine as Modern Biomedicine, I decided to go in this direction. So began my long (four years of TCM school) and rewarding journey to become a Chinese medicine practitioner.
I began my 4-year Chinese medicine educational journey in New York City at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (Now called Pacific College of Health and Sciences).

After living in New York City for over two years, I missed living in Miami, FL. So, I decided it was time to move back to Miami and transfer to and graduate from Acupuncture and Massage College in Kendall, FL. I earned both with a Master's in Oriental Medicine and a Bachelor of Health Science.
While attending both schools, I maintained excellent grades and showed potential at both school clinics. After graduation, I passed all four national board exams (Foundations of Oriental Medicine, Acupuncture with Point Location, Chinese Herbology, and Biomedicine) required to practice in the State of Florida and become a National Board Certified Diplomate of Oriental Medicine under the NCCAOM (National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine).

After graduation, I spent lots of time searching for and studying the most effective methods to help my patients achieve the best results. Eventually, this led me to passionately specialize in distal acupuncture techniques such as Dr. Tan's Balance Method and Master Tung's Acupuncture. I also implement Electro-Acupuncture and Orthopedic Acupuncture.
Another Chinese Medicine modality I also really enjoy practicing is Chinese Herbal Medicine. Chinese herbs are my favorite way to treat internal medicine conditions because the results are incredible.
Learning these methods showed me how powerful Acupuncture and East Asian Medicine can be if done correctly, ultimately leading me to become a passionate and confident practitioner. To this day, I am still looking for better ways to help my patients get the best results possible. I am always striving to become the best acupuncturist in Miami.
